Why does the Natural Rubber Yoga Mat Restore help the eKO® Series?

The eKO® mats are made of natural tree rubber - a more sensitive material that breaks down and oxidizes over time and with use. This mat wash is specifically designed to help prolong the lifespan of your eKO® mat as it contains vinegar, which helps restore the rubber and adds moisture and grip back to the mat prolonging its lifespan!

Does the eKO® Series oxidize like other rubber mats on the market?

Oxidation, or changes in colour and texture, is a byproduct of all-natural rubber products. Storing your eKO® mat in a dry environment out of sunlight, will prolong the life of the mat. For optimum care, wipe down your mat with water before each use and clean as needed with Manduka’s Natural Rubber Yoga Mat Restore.

Is the Natural Rubber Yoga Mat Wash all natural?

Yes - The Fragrances are made with 100% Aromatic NATURAL RAW MATERIALS as defined by ISO 9235:2013. That is the highest standard in the fragrance industry.

ISO 9235 defines natural aromatic raw materials as being physically obtained from plants using distillation, expression and extraction. Synthetically reconstituted essential oils, synthetic nature-identical ingredients and intentionally chemically modified natural raw materials (e.g. chemical acetylation of essential oil) cannot be used in fragrance compounds that are described as being natural. The Natural Products Association goes one step further to not permit the use of petrochemical solvents in the extraction process, so concentrates and absolutes made using hexane are not permitted.
