Yes. The 6mm high-density cushioning helps reduce pressure on knees, wrists, elbows, and hips during yoga practice. It provides excellent support without feeling overly soft, making it ideal for practitioners seeking both comfort and stability.

Every yoga practice is different. Factors like natural perspiration, practice intensity, and room temperature can all influence how your mat feels during practice.

The PRO Series features a closed-cell surface that keeps moisture on the surface of the mat instead of allowing it to soak in. This supports the long-term performance the PRO Series is known for while making the mat easy to clean.

If you naturally perspire more (or you're practicing in a heated room) we recommend pairing your PRO with a Yogitoes Hot Yoga Towel for added grip as moisture builds.

If you typically practice with dry hands and feet, you'll likely find the feel of your PRO becomes more familiar with regular practice, allowing you to focus less on the mat and more on your practice.

The Manduka PRO is widely regarded as one of the best yoga mats because it combines superior cushioning, stability, durability, and support. Its 6mm thickness helps protect joints while maintaining a firm, floor-like foundation for balance and alignment. It is trusted by yoga teachers, studios, and practitioners worldwide.

Choose the Manduka PRO Yoga Mat 6mm if you want the ultimate foundation for a lifelong yoga practice. With its premium high-density cushioning, 6mm thickness, and floor-like stability, the PRO is designed to support your joints while giving you a firm, grounded feel for balance, alignment, and strength-based poses. Its closed-cell surface is hygienic and easy to clean, making it ideal for regular home or studio practice. Built to last and backed by a lifetime guarantee, the Manduka PRO is the best choice for practitioners who want maximum durability, comfort, and long-term performance in one mat.

Both mats deliver the trusted performance the PRO Series is known for. The difference comes down to how and where you practice. The PRO offers a higher level of cushioning, making it an ideal choice for practitioners creating a dedicated home practice or anyone who prefers a more substantial mat. If you're looking for even more room to move, the PRO Long & Wide and PRO Squared offer expanded practice spaces designed for taller practitioners or dedicated home practice environments. The PRO Lite delivers the same trusted PRO Series performance in a lighter, more portable design that's easy to carry between home and the studio. As the PRO Series mat chosen by yoga studios around the world, it's designed to withstand the demands of daily studio use while remaining easy to move, store, and set up between classes. A closed-cell surface is non-porous, which means moisture stays on the surface of the mat instead of soaking in. Think of it like water on glass rather than water soaking into a sponge. This makes the PRO Series easy to clean after practice while helping maintain the long-term performance it's designed for. Simply wipe down your mat after practice and let it dry completely before rolling it up.

A new PRO Series mat may feel a little different during your first few practices because it's fresh from production. With regular practice, you'll become more familiar with your PRO, allowing you to focus less on the mat and more on your practice. While some practitioners refer to this as a “break-in” period, we simply recommend practicing on your mat regularly. We don't recommend the salt method or other treatments, and no special preparation is required. Over time, your PRO becomes a well-loved part of your practice. It's designed to maintain its performance for years to come, while familiarity naturally grows with every return to practice.

The PRO Series is the mat that started it all. For more than 25 years, it has been trusted by yoga teachers, studios, and practitioners looking for a premium, thoughtfully crafted yoga mat designed to support their practice for years to come. Every PRO Series mat is designed around exceptional stability, unmatched durability, and supportive cushioning. Its dense construction creates a firm, stable foundation for standing poses and balance work while helping cushion pressure points, whether you're pressing into your hands in Downward Dog or settling into Low Lunge. Built to support years of daily practice and backed by a Lifetime Guarantee, the PRO Series is designed to stay with you through every return to the mat.
